Rockstone Cottage Booking Information and Terms & Conditions
Rockstone Cottage is a family run Guest House offering bed and breakfast. It is also our home. As we are not a hotel we reserve the right to accept and refuse guests according to our Booking Conditions stated below. Prices: The price of the accommodation includes breakfast. Our current tariff is displayed on the desk in the hall and on the tariff page of this website.
Breakfast: Breakfast is served between 8 am and 9 am.
Pets: Sorry, we do not allow pets, except for registered assistance dogs.
Acceptance of Children: Adults only – no children.
No Smoking Policy: The entire premises including the garden and forecourt are a smoking free area. Any guests smoking on the premises may be asked to leave and/or pay an additional cleaning charge.
Payment methods: Cash, Cheque, Debit or Credit Cards: VISA, VISA Electron, Mastercard, Maestro, (we are unable to accept American Express).
Booking Procedure: We ask you to provide us with your postal address and contact telephone number. Failure to provide valid information may result in us cancelling your booking. If you contact us by email we respect your privacy and will not share your email address.
Cancellation and Insurance: By making your booking, our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit is non-refundable. If you cannot take your holiday and the booking cannot be re-let, you are still liable to pay for the booking in full, even if we have not yet received your balance. If we do succeed in re-letting the booking, you are no longer liable for the balance, or we will refund it to you if you have already paid it, less a £5 administration fee. Please note that your deposit is not refundable. We would recommend that you take out cancellation insurance to cover this cost.
Non-availability of Accommodation: We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Arrival: Your accommodation will be available to you from 2 pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. We may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive earlier than the agreed time as we will be busy preparing your room. Please let us know your approximate arrival time so we make sure we are here to meet you.
Late arrival procedure: Please contact us to let us know if you will be arriving much later than the agreed time. Guests may arrive up to 9.30 pm at night.
Access to rooms: We clean & service all rooms between 10.30 am & 1.30 pm. The house is closed to guests during this time, but you are most welcome to use the dining room or garden. We hold master keys to all bedrooms and will enter to service the room or to carry out essential maintenance.
Departure: Please be ready to leave by 10.30 am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. We will provide you with an invoice on request.
Bedrooms: Our rooms accommodate a maximum of 2 guests per night. Only registered guests are permitted to use the rooms.
Laundry Service: We regret we are unable to offer a laundry service. We will however, dry wet clothing for walkers and cyclists and other guests caught in the rain & have a line for swimwear.
Takeaway meals: We don’t permit takeaway meals in the house.
Damages and Breakages: Please take care when staying in our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages, which you cause, to the accommodation or its contents. All we ask is that you report any incidents as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge of £25 if you did not report this.
Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or any employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Privacy Policy / Data Protection: Any data collected during the course of booking or registering may be stored on our computer(s). With your permission we may from time to time contact you about promotions and offers. Please let us know if you do not wish to receive any mailings from us. We will not share your details with any third party.
Access Statement: Our Access Statement is available on request, Please let us know if you would like a large font size.
Unacceptable Behaviour: Rockstone Cottage is a place to relax and unwind. Most of our guests go to bed relatively early, so it is not suitable for people who like to party. Anyone under the influence, or who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs may be refused entry or asked to leave. Threatening, abusive, or anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and anyone demonstrating this kind of behaviour will be required to leave immediately. As will any guest that misuses our property or gives us cause for concern for our safety, or that of our guests. Guests will be liable for the full cost of the booking if we are unable to let the room. We do not accept bookings for groups, Stag, Hen, wedding parties or similar events.
